Hosting and Support

Our websites are hosted on our own proprietary CMS which is built to be intuitive for restaurant operators.

No, you will always own your own domain name. When you're ready to launch your site, we'll help ensure your new site displays on your domain.

No, but you can easily create your own custom email address with Google for Business.

BentoBox websites are Level 1 PCI compliant and use a 128-bit encryption for guaranteed security. A Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is enabled on every checkout page.

You will receive one personalized online training session before your website launches. In addition, we offer email support 7 days per week and have an online support database for frequently asked questions.

Design

Your new site will be created by the BentoBox Design Team who specialize solely in creating restaurant websites that make a powerful first impression and help convert visitors into paying customers.

Yes. Every BentoBox website is mobile friendly and responsive, ensuring your website experience adjusts according to the device your visitor is using.

Yes. You'll find best practice SEO features, like customizable URLs and meta titles, robust menu schemas, optimized page structures, and more in every BentoBox website.

Through the BentoBox backend platform, you will have the tools to make content and photo updates at any time. With regards to the designed look and feel of your website: you will have two rounds of revisions to your website design before launch. In addition, we offer a complimentary website redesign every three years. Any additional design revisions pre-launch or requested changes to design post-launch will be subject to a fee.

Yes. Our hospitality-specific templates were created from the ground up to give our designers the flexibility needed to create unique designs while still providing you the restaurant-focused features needed to succeed online.

Digital accessibility is a top priority for our customers. The BentoBox platform has been certified accessible to WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We have and continue to conduct manual audits of our templates, features and products in partnership with AudioEye. Learn more about website accessibility here.

Integrations

Yes, BentoBox can integrate directly with OpenTable, Resy, Yelp Reservations and SEVENROOMS. BentoBox can link or embed other reservation systems too. Schedule a demo to learn more.

Yes, BentoBox can integrate directly with MailChimp, MyEmma, Constant Contact and Campaign Monitor. BentoBox can link or embed other email marketing services too. Schedule a demo to learn more.

We will [optionally] add hyperlinked social media icons to your website as well as an Instagram feed that pulls your latest posts. In addition, when you add an event or press article to your site in the backend, you can simultaneously push those posts to a Facebook or Twitter account.

Yes! We currently partner with restaurants in over a dozen countries worldwide. We’ll help set your website up a third-party service that translates your website content to a specified language in your preferred market.

Ecommerce

Online transactions can be processed through our in-house payment processor, powered by Clover. We partnered with Clover because they're reliable, secure, and built for website integrations. You can easily connect to an existing account, or sign up as a new user. Payments are made directly to your connected bank account within 1-2 business days or faster depending on your business. 

We also integrate with Stripe or Square. Additional information, and exceptions, can be found on each processors website.

The Plus Plan includes digital and physical gift card sales, ticketing platform, ability to send payment requests, and a merchandise shop. You can also sell and manage online orders from your website with our add-on feature. Contact sales@getbento.com to learn more.

Online Ordering

With BentoBox Online Ordering, you can launch online ordering for your restaurant in less than a week. To start, you provide the menu, prices and inventory. We set up online ordering for you at no additional cost.



No, Online Ordering lives on your website. Online Ordering keeps guests on your domain to complete their transaction. 



BentoBox Online Ordering is a zero commission service. 



You have full control over online ordering. You can decide pickup times, lead times and what information your guests see when they place an order. You also have access to order history and the guest database. You can easily access and export this information to re-market to your guests. 



No, you do not need a BentoBox website to sign up for Online Ordering. We provide you with a URL to an Online Ordering standalone experience. You can link to this URL from an existing website or social media. You can set up standalone online ordering in less than a week. Contact sales@getbento.com to learn more. 



Branding and Support

You will need to provide, at a minimum, a logo and your food and drink menu(s) in order to get started with the design process. Sharing additional branding is encouraged as well, especially high resolution photography.

No, a graphic logo must be provided by you. Logos files should have a transparent background and the file type should be .png, .ai, .eps, or .jpg. The recommended width is 500 - 1000px and the height varies based on design. Uploading an alternate logo with 5:1 ratio (horizontal orientation) is recommended. If no logo exists, a preset text-based logo will be provided in your website.

Photos on your BentoBox site should be between 500KB and 800KB in order to ensure fast load times. Resolution varies depending on how the images are being used. The file types we recommend are .jpeg and .png. If you do not have professional photography, we have access to a collection of high-resolution stock photos as a placeholder until you have professional photography of your own available.

Yes. Our websites support video content which can be displayed in a main image gallery or embedded into the website. Video has to be hosted on Vimeo/YouTube, should be under 1 minute, and shot at a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Cost and Building

BentoBox pricing depends on your restaurant’s online business goals. The type of plan, the number of restaurant locations, and feature additions such as online ordering, gift cards, or eCommerce packages, vary the price. It is up to you to pay month-to-month or 12 months upfront. There is 10% discount on all pricing when you pay 12 months upfront.

The website setup fee includes start-to-finish support as you work with our onboarding and design teams to build a best-in-class website for your business.

  • You’ll be assigned a dedicated onboarding manager
  • We’ll hold a kickoff call with your team to understand your brand and vision
  • Using your provided brand assets, including logo, photography, and food and drink menus, our design team will create a first-round version – or Initial Preview – of your website
  • Our design team will make any necessary revisions to ensure the website matches your vision

 Once you’ve approved your final website design, you will be trained on how to use and update your website. We’ll also run your website through our quality assurance process to be sure everything is working correctly. And when it’s time to launch, our onboarding team will be there for ongoing support.

This fee includes setup, maintenance, and ongoing support of location-specific website pages for businesses with multiple locations. Each location page can feature location-specific details like menus, hours, events, and contact forms. As you add more locations, our team will set up, maintain, and support those pages, free of charge.

The Plus subscription includes a customized website design complete with a digital storefront and built-in marketing and commerce tools. With Plus, you can sell gift cards and event tickets, launch loyalty programs, automated marketing campaigns, create promo codes, and more. And of course, our expert design team is able to capture any existing brand identity by way of unique color palettes, typography, graphics, and more.

The Essentials subscription includes a website pre-designed using one of our dozens of unique templates, all built with restaurants in mind. With an Essentials subscription, you can customize colors, add your logo and remove textures, but you cannot use your own fonts, textures, and/or layouts.

As soon as you sign up, a dedicated designer and project manager start working to prepare your site so you'll be getting value from day one.

Plans Add-Ons

BentoBox Online Ordering allows you to sell and manage to-go orders, with or without an existing website. There are no commission fees, so restaurants keep more revenue. You can set up online ordering in less than a week.

Drive customer loyalty and increase revenue with digital and physical gift cards. Easily track all your gift card sales in one place. Gift cards are available with or without an existing website. 

Pre-Order & Catering eliminates the need to take catering orders over the phone by allowing your guests to customize their large catering order all the way to checkout. Features include intuitive menu items, pickup and delivery options, blackout dates, tipping, and email notifications. Pre-Order & Catering is available for $79/month/location as an add-on. The Event Management tool provides an easier way to turn private event and catering inquiries into booked events, complete with online contracts. Events Management is available for $149/month/location. If you're interested in learning more, ask your Onboarding team member after checkout.
